Good news for Instrumental Music Teachers who are looking to undertake a teacher training course . . .
The University of Melbourne has this year launched their M Mus PT/Grad Dip Ed course and will see their first intake graduate at the end of next year with teaching qualifications that meet VIT requirements.
The course has an instrumental music/ensemble direction focus and is great for those who have worked as professional musicians, have completed studies in performance and/or have been teaching for some time. Credit may be gained for completion of other post-grad studies as well as documented perfomance careers such as professional orchestral or service band employment.
The Master of Performance, Performance Teaching will be delivered by the University of Melbourne, Conservatorium of Music with ‘full-time’ enrolment being around 1.5 days per week, with the Grad Dip Ed being delivered by LaTrobe University.
