Go to resource: ArtsEdge Kennedy Centre Music Lesson Plans (USA) offers dozens of music lesson plans, many of which are integrated with other subjects such as science and maths. Each lesson plan is graded according to age level, arts subject, and other subjects. ArtsEdge is a program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and is a partner of Thinkinfinity, a consortium of USA national education organisations. ArtsEdge’s aim is to implement arts programs in schools.
Go to resource: Cool Cats cross arts adventures, published by Bushfire Press for primary students, is a four level series designed to teach integrated arts courses, including music, dance, drama, media, and visual art. The series comes with CDs, songs, music, activities, and templates. The accompanying student workbooks is available also on CD-rom.
Go to resource: Creating Meaning Through Literature and the Arts by Claudia Cornett (2006) is a textbook specifically for classroom teachers. It covers the integration of the arts throughout the curriculum and examines the four arts streams (Dance, Drama, Music, Visual Art). It is published by Merrill/Prentice-Hall.
Go to resource: Integrating music into the classroom, by William Anderson and Joy Lawrence, is published by Wadsworth Publishing, California, 1991. This text is for primary teachers and demonstrates how to integrate music with other classroom activities and curriculum. It is able to be used by generalist and specialist teachers, and introduces children to music basics. The volume contains over 150 songs, multicultural activities, and lesson plans for early childhood to primary stages.

Go to resource: Integrating the arts: twelve school-based experiences, published by the Department for Education and Children’s Services, SA, 1997, gives twelve case best-practice case studies for the teaching of the arts in schools. The publication is relevant to teachers of Early Childhood (Reception) through to secondary school (Year 10).

This volume offers support for teaching media, music, dance, and drama in primary schools, as well as information on integrating the arts and planning.

The collection includes songs, with their traditional dances, from international places, as well as information about each country’s culture and people. The pages within the publication can be reproduced.
Go to resource: Songs for Teaching is an American website that offers downloadable songs for teaching various non-music subjects, integrating music into learning tasks. Users need to purchase songs. Each song is searchable via subject name or via artist name.
