Background to this site

It originated under the then Music Education Advisory Group (MEAG) – a body set up to provide advice the Commonwealth Education Minister following the release of the National Review of School Music Education (the ‘Seares Report).

Establishment of the site was made possible with the support of the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations and the Australian Arts Trust. It is now maintained by the Music Council of Australia.
