- National Melbourne Festival of Choirs – June 2011
MELBOURNE FESTIVAL OF CHOIRS Youth/School Choir Program
Friday 10th June 2011 9.30am – 3.30pm
Dr Jonathon Welch AM (best known as the Founding Director of the ARIA, Helpmann and Logie winning Choir of Hard Knocks, ABC TV’s Jail Birds and Channel 7’s Battle of the Choirs), is inviting schools and students to participate in the first National Melbourne Festival of Choirs to be held on the Queen’s Birthday weekend of 10 – 13 June 2011.
Following the stunning success of the inaugural 2010 Melbourne Festival of Choirs, with over 400 participants, we are conducting a dedicated Youth/Schools Festival Program on Friday 10th June offering the opportunity for students from Grade 4 upwards to collaborate and workshop with some of Australia’s best music directors, and to perform in the magnificent BMW Edge Theatre in Federation Square.
